On 6 May, 5 pm, we invite you to the Library’s Conference Room for a screening of the film “Eugenija Grandė” (2021).
This historical drama, directed by Marc Dugain, is a superb adaptation of the novel by Honoré de Balzac. Eugenie, a young woman, lives with her parents, but her life is completely controlled by her father Felix. Despite falling in love with a poor man, her life is marked by self-sacrifice and giving of herself to others.
The film is screened in French with English subtitles.
