The concert will feature Simona Jakubėnaitė’s original work from her debut album Her Light, which combines elements of jazz, alternative, minimalist and contemporary academic music. The original programme, arranged for performance with the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, reveals new timbral and structural possibilities of Simona’s compositions.
“Her Light’s musical material is characterised by introspective narrative: personal experiences are transformed into clearly articulated musical images in which the vocal line becomes the main dramatic guide. Giedrius Nakas’ keyboards and orchestral texture add a new dynamic layer to the works, emphasising the synthesis of contemporary original music and chamber expression.
