On Thursday, June 25, at 6:00 p.m., at the Klaipėda Culture Communication Center (KKKC) in the courtyard of the Exhibition Hall (Aukštoji St. 1), the Open-Air Art Summer will continue—performer Konstantinas Hello Buskeris will give a live concert, Valentinas Charitonovas will play his colorful vinyl collection, and visitors and passersby, inspired by the sounds of music, will be able to paint in the heart of Klaipėda’s Old Town or simply enjoy the atmosphere.
You can look forward to the charming architecture of historic half-timbered buildings, fresh air, good company, background music, and art. We invite everyone who wants to enjoy a pleasant summer evening filled with music, and for those who love art, we offer the chance to paint a picture. It doesn’t matter at all whether you hold a paintbrush often or last painted in school. Perhaps you’ll meet old acquaintances, perhaps you’ll make new ones—the format is informal and lets you be just as you like.
The musical atmosphere at the event will be provided by:
· Konstantin “Hello” Busker (Konstantin Baskajev) – founder and leader of the rock ’n’ blues band “Breaze” (Klaipėda). He also performs solo sets as a “one-man band.” During the event, he will present his solo program “Alone & Acoustic,” which consists of his original compositions and well-known songs from the world’s musical heritage.
· Valentinas Charitonovas is known to some as an educator, and to others as a music lover and DJ. At the event, he will create a cozy atmosphere by playing vinyl records and letting the audience immerse themselves in the flow of improvisation. The selection ranges from cinematic American ambient to mesmerizing Norwegian shamanic jazz, from Lithuanian experimental alternative to swaying English trip-hop, from intoxicating Portuguese lyricism to wild Karelian folklore.
Professional painter Ernestas Žvaigždinas will be joining us as a special guest; he will paint alongside the participants and offer guidance and advice as they paint.
We’ll provide the basic art supplies, but if you have your own favorite paints, brushes, or sketchbook, feel free to bring them along.
Admission and participation are free. We’ll start gathering at 5:30 p.m.
