August 12, 2026 At 6:00 p.m., the Giruliai Branch of the Immanuel Kant Public Library of the Klaipėda City Municipality (10A Šlaito St.) will host the musical program “Summer Improvisations” featuring “Jazz Trio S.E.L.”: Saulius Šiaučiulis (keyboards), Edmundas Federavičius (drums), and Laimonas Urbikas (saxophone).
On a summer evening, the audience is invited to spend the evening to the rhythm of jazz—to immerse themselves in live musical improvisations, subtle melodies, and unexpected musical dialogues. The program, featuring three musicians with many years of stage experience, promises a sensitive, free-spirited, and emotionally rich musical journey.
Pianist, composer, and associate professor at the Faculty of Arts of Klaipėda University, Saulius Šiaučiulis is one of Lithuania’s most prominent jazz artists. He has performed at prestigious jazz festivals in Lithuania and abroad, collaborated with the Klaipėda Dixieland Band, and appeared on stages in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and other countries.
Drummer Edmundas Federavičius is a longtime jazz performer and educator who actively participates in projects in Lithuania and abroad. His musical style is characterized by freedom of improvisation, a sound typical of the classical jazz tradition, and a focus on training young musicians.
Saxophonist and educator Laimonas Urbikas has performed at numerous jazz festivals in Lithuania and has given concerts in the United States, Japan, Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Latvia, and other countries. He currently leads the Klaipėda Dixieland band “Memeland,” performs in various jazz projects, and in 2018 was honored with the “Jazz Star” award, established by the Klaipėda Jazz Festival, for his promotion of jazz music.
