The 2026 West Lithuania Song Festival is dedicated to the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Little Lithuania Song Festivals, which will be celebrated in 2027, as well as to this year’s Lithuanian Schoolchildren’s Song Festival “In Time. Circle. Together”.
This year’s theme, “The Flow of Song “, invites us to look at the tradition of song festivals as a continuous movement, where the past and the present, people’s voices, the city’s history and the vision of the future converge. In the space of St John’s Hill, this idea takes on a special meaning: the water becomes a living symbol of the flow, and the sound created by the choirs, dancers and musicians leads from its historical origins into the coming century.
The Western Lithuania Song Festival will feature 174 groups: choirs, vocal ensembles, dance groups, folk instrument ensembles and orchestras from 58 cities and towns: Anykščiai, Baisogala, Bukiškis, Druskininkai, Dusetai, Elektrėnai, Ežerėļi, Gargždai, Garliava, Ginkūnai, Juknaičiai, Jurbarkas, Kaisiadorys, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Kretingale, Kretinga, Kretingis, Kruonis, Kudirka Naumiescis, Kuli, Kvėdarna, Laukuva, Linkuva, Mažeikiai, Molėtai, Naujoji, Akmenė, Nida, Pakruojis, Palanga, Panevėžys, Pasvalys, Plateliai, Plungė, Priekulės, Rietavas, Rokiškis, Rozalimas, Salantai, Saugai, Sintautai, Skuodas, Šakiai, Šiauliai, Šilalė, Šilutė, Širvintos, Tauragė, Telšiai, Tytuvėnai, Triusiai, Ukmergė, Utena, Užventis, Vainut, Veiviržėnai, Veliuona, Vėžaičiai, Vilnius.
