File size:  2.56 MB

The sculpture shows a thoughtful man seated on the edge of a boat, gazing calmly into the boundless sky. Perhaps he is navigating by the stars, seeking an unknown, undiscovered spiritual land. Or perhaps he waits patiently for the winds to shift, so his boat may finally move in the desired direction.

The work evokes a mood of peace, waiting and acceptance.

Sculptor Rimantas Daugintis developed a distinctive sculptural language. His works are marked by a nostalgic sensibility that conveys the uniqueness of the Lithuanian character.
