Sąjūdis Park – a Spirit of Freedom and a Space for Active Recreation

24/7

In the southern part of Klaipėda, between Laukininkų and Varpų streets, stretches Sąjūdis Park – a green space meant not only for recreation but also for meaningful memories. Established in 2008 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Reform Movement of Lithuania, in 2018, the park was fully renovated and adapted to modern needs.
Once there, you will find one of the largest BMX, skateboard and roller skate parks in Lithuania, a gym area, pedestrian and bicycle lanes, a mini amphitheatre and water bodies with bridges. A playground with outdoor musical instruments for children adapted for people with mobility disabilities. For those who prefer a less active recreation mode, the park offers benches and picnic tables, and greenery that invites one to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

In the middle of the park, one will find a subtle but meaningful detail: a sculpture created by Stasys Mišeikis, sculptor, and Romas Marčius, architect, resembling an unfolding flower.

It is like a silent sign of freedom, inviting to stop and to remember.

The Sąjūdis Park is a place where freedom lives not only in history but also in everyday steps, games and tranquil walks.

The park is open 24 hours a day; recreational facilities are free of charge.
