The sculpture She is Walking is realistic in style, yet its essence is philosophical.
The female figure appears strangely askew. She takes a step forwards, but glances back. Originally placed beside a path, the sculpture seemed to look at the passerby sideways, as if trying to slip out of the park unnoticed.
However, the piece was later moved into a flowerbed, where it was visible from every angle. In this new setting, it lost the sculptor’s intended idea of a figure silently walking away, disappearing without anyone seeing.
A gentle bell chime could serve as the sound cue.
The sculptor, Antanas Šnaras, has said that this work is, in a way, a version of himself.
