Baltic amber is the part of the national heritage that cherishes the traditional craft that has been preserved for centuries to this day. According to a Lithuanian legend, amber is the remains of the castle of the sea goddess Jūratė, which was ruined by the god Perkūnas as punishment for her love for Kastytis, a common fisherman. Located in the very heart of Klaipėda’s Old Town, the Amber Queen shop and museum provides an opportunity to see unique contemporary and ancient amber articles. The extensive exposition enables visitors to familiarise themselves with the most impressive collections: antique pipes, antique amber articles, most beautiful amber pieces from all over the world, and unique amber inclusions.
