History Museum of Lithuania Minor is the largest museum of the history of Klaipėda region located in one of the oldest buildings of the Klaipėda Old Town built at the end of the 18th century. Everything you will see and hear in the museum speaks about the seaside region that for several centuries was known as part of East Prussia. Here you will discover maps of Prussia, coins and archaeological finds. You will have an opportunity to get to know the pagan and Christian culture of the region, to wander through the maps of the ancient cartographers, and to look into the formation of East Prussia and Klaipėda region. You will see the views of old Klaipėda presented in postcards and photos. Those interested in the crafts of this region will see not only what the local people used to adorn themselves with, but also the straw beehives they used to make.
