RECOMMENDED for archaeologists of authentic sound art

Twenty years is a significant period of time, not only for a festival but also for a person. Over the course of the “Plartforma” International Arts Festival’s existence, a whole new generation of artists has emerged. Today, the festival invites you to discover their voices, creative directions, and sound experiments.

The concert will feature Aistis Bielkauskas, a graduate of the Stasys Šimkus Conservatory in Klaipėda who is currently studying at the Faculty of Arts at Vytautas the Great University. Having begun composing music as a child, he has presented his work at the “Mėnuo Juodaragis” festival and collaborated with the Museum of the History of Lithuania Minor on the creation of the virtual educational game “Klaipėda. 1923.” Aistis’s music is characterized by an alternative approach and an experimental sound.

Jokūbas Sarulis will also be part of the evening’s program. After graduating from Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium, he is currently pursuing his studies in the acting program at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater. Jokūbas will read poems from Marcelijus Martinaitis’s *Kukučio baladės* and share his latest creative explorations.

Also appearing on stage will be Urtė Krutkevičiūtė, an artist of the younger generation whose musical journey began with studies in piano and carillon, and later expanded into the realm of electronic music and artistic reflection. Inspired by minimalist and atmospheric music, Urtė explores in her work the boundaries between academic and contemporary music, between structure and spontaneity, and between the sounds of everyday life and their artistic transformation.

The concert will conclude with a performance by Liepa Vozgirdaitė, a composer and performer based in Dresden who is participating in this year’s festival creative residency and explores experimental sound practices. Her works have been presented at prestigious international venues and festivals, including: the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Impuls Festival Graz, the PAN Music Festival, the Ung Nordisk Musik Festival, as well as in Lithuania at festivals such as “Jauna muzika,” “Muzikos ruduo,” “Muzika erdvėje,” and others. Liepa’s music has been performed by ensembles such as the “Decoder Ensemble,” “MDR-Sinfonieorchester,” “Apartment House,” “Tapiola Sinfonietta,” “Synaesthesis,” and others. Liepa is the founder and a member of the experimental music ensemble “Artisans” and part of the artistic duo “Opus 58.” During the concert, she will present her latest creative explorations, which emerged during a week-long creative residency.

The event will also feature the presentation of a vinyl record titled “Klaipėda,” released to mark the festival’s 20th anniversary, which compiles works from creative residencies held in recent years. The album features:
