Smiltynė Beach – a Sanctuary of Nature Accessible to Everyone

Just a few minutes by ferry, and you are in another world: in the silence of the pine forests of the Curonian Spit, where the sea is filled with tranquillity, and the wind smells of pine resin. After disembarking from the Smiltynė Old Ferry, you can reach the beach on foot or on bike via the lanes winding through a cozy pine forest with convenient stops with racks installed for those travelling on two wheels.

Smiltynė is one of the few Lithuanian beaches that has received the global Blue Flag award, signifying exceptional quality. Here you will find clean sand, sports equipment and playgrounds, changing cabins, toilets, Wi-Fi, charging points, a medical aid station and lifeguards on duty. The seaside area is suitable for everyone, starting with the little ones to visitors with limited mobility.

To enhance your knowledge and impressions, it is worth visiting the Lithuanian Maritime Museum, a popular attraction situated at the Southern Pier. Other places and objects of interest in Smiltynė are the Curonian Spit National Park Visitor Centre, the legendary ship Dubingiai, villas of the early 20th century and an authentic fisherman’s homestead.

And those aiming to get even further can take a bus at the Smiltynė New Ferry to reach Juodkrantė, Pervalka, Preila or Nida.

Smiltynė is open 24 hours a day and is glad to welcome you anytime.
